Biverba is a voice translation app that lets two people share one phone and speak in different languages. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no trackers, and we operate no servers of our own. This policy describes exactly which data the app touches and what happens to it.

The microphone is open only while you hold down a talk button, or while listening is locked on after a short tap. It is closed the rest of the time.
Biverba never records, stores or uploads audio. The app hands the microphone stream to your device's own speech recognition — Apple's speech recognition on iOS, Google's speech service on Android — and receives only the resulting text back. It has no access to the raw audio at any point.
Depending on your device, the selected language and your system settings, that operating system service may perform recognition on the device or send the audio to Apple's or Google's servers. That processing is under the platform's control, not ours, and is governed by their policies: Apple Privacy Policy · Google Privacy Policy.
Once your speech has become text, that text is sent over HTTPS to a translation service, for the sole purpose of receiving its translation:

(privacy policy)Each request contains only the sentence to be translated plus a source and target language code. No user identifier, account, device identifier, advertising ID, IP-linked profile or location is attached, because the app holds none of these. We reviewed both providers' published privacy policies before choosing them; we have no contract with either, and once a request leaves your device that provider's own policy applies to it. We receive no copy and keep no record of it.
Please keep in mind: whatever you say becomes text and is sent to the translation service above. Avoid speaking passwords, payment card numbers, government ID numbers, health details or anything else you would not want a third-party service to process.

We run no servers and hold no database, so there is nothing on our side to retain: we never receive your text, your audio or any identifier. Retention is therefore entirely in your hands:
The translation providers named above operate globally, so the sentence you translate may be processed on servers outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where processing your text is necessary to provide the translation you asked for, our legal basis is the performance of that request; you control it entirely by choosing whether to speak.
Biverba is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no user accounts and no way for users to communicate with strangers.
If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated and the current version is published at this address. If a change ever broadens the categories of data the app sends or stores, it will also be announced inside the app before taking effect.

Biverba 13 yaşın altındaki çocuklara yönelik değildir ve onlardan bilerek veri toplamaz. Uygulamada reklam, uygulama içi satın alma, kullanıcı hesabı ve yabancılarla iletişim kurulabilecek herhangi bir özellik bulunmaz.
